Administrators Erroneous Posted July 30 Administrators Share Posted July 30 Just a little project to organize my thoughts on how many times CC2 has responded to fans for them to ask BandaiNamco for more .hack games, since CC2 is the game developer not the publisher and the publisher is the one who owns the rights to the property. Quote July 26 2018 We get a lot of requests regarding remakes, remasters, re-releases, etc. concerning the ".hack" series, so here's our response. We at CyberConnect2 have suggested many ideas to Bandai Namco Entertainment (the publisher, AKA the client) in regards to the .hack series in the past, and we still discuss these ideas with them today. However, in the end, the one who has the power to green-light anything in regards to the ".hack" series is Bandai Namco Entertainment. We appreciate your passion and love for the ".hack" series, and we hear requests from tons of people every day. But in order for that passion to reach the people who have control over the future developments of the ".hack" series, we ask for everyone to please send your requests directly to Bandai Namco Entertainment so they can hear what you have to say. Quote February 12, 2019 We would love to see that! Please send all requests for new .hack games to Bandai Namco, the publisher! Unfortunately, we can't do anything from our side. -Sarah Quote February 21, 2019 Hi! For requests for ".hack" sequels, remakes, remasters, etc, please send them to Bandai Namco! We have no power in the matter. Thanks! -Sarah Quote February 27, 2019 The publisher is Bandai Namco, so they’d be the ones to ask! -Sarah Quote March 1, 2019 Hi! 1. Ask Bandai Namco 2) Ask Bandai Namco 3) Ask Capcom 4) Our newest game Fuga is scheduled for 2019! Quote March 6, 2019 I'm not sure where you got that number, but there is a 0.000% chance if you send these requests to us, considering we're the developer, not the publisher of the ".hack" series and we don't make those kinds of decisions. Please send all ".hack" requests to Bandai Namco! -Sarah March 6, 2019 Please ask Bandai Namco, the publisher! We're the developer--we unfortunately don't have power over matters like that. Thanks! -Sarah Quote March 10, 2019 Hi! That's actually the best thing to do. We're the developer, so unfortunately, we don't have power over those kinds of decisions. All requests should go to the publisher, Bandai Namco. Thanks for the enthusiasm! We love the ".hack" series too. -Sarah Quote March 11, 2019 We want one too! You'll have to send all requests to Bandai Namco, the publisher--they're the only ones who can make that dream come true! -Sarah Quote March 24, 2019 Considering I get this message every day, yes, we do know! However, as much as we would like to make a new game, you’ll have to send requests to Bandai Namco, the publisher! They’re the ones to ask! -Sarah Quote July 7, 2019 I do too, trust! We encourage you to send your passionate requests to Bandai Namco Entertainment as we need their green light to further this amazing IP! Quote July 18, 2019 We would require its publisher's green light! Make sure you reach out to Bandai Namco Entertainment July 18, 2019 Thank you for the enthusiasm Aaron-san! We agree with you and would very much like to make this dream come true! Let .hack's publisher hear our voices and gives us the green light to further develop this world! Quote August 7, 2019 Are there any plans to remake or remaster the PS2 games? We get asked this very often. At the same time, we have received questions asking to whom they may send such requests. Currently, we do not have plans for a remake or remaster. And regarding to whom you may contact, please forward your requets to Bandai Namco Entertainment. Quote August 28, 2019 But nonetheless, please send these requests to Bandai Namco Entertainment. Quote November 4, 2020 Well, we actually receive quite the amount of questions concerning what we could call "the future of the .hack project". I'll answer the previous in order. First of all, one the questions we receive the most is "What about the first 4 installments?". In other words .hack//Infection up to .hack//Quarantine. Questions like "are there any plans for an HD remake like for .hack//G.U. Last Recode?". I think that we would love to. We would love to but for this by all means please send requests to Bandai Namco Entertainment. However even with 1, 10, 100, or 1000 requests sent, it would probably still not be enough. What we need right now, as could be expected, is a paramount sales for .hack//G.U. Last Recode. It's selling as we speak but, as sales climb even more, Bandai Namco Entertainment might think about having an HD remake of the original 4 games. If we're lucky enough to have them feeling like wanting to reboot and start a new project from zero, I think that might be the closest thing to what people have been wishing for. And that's for fans outside as well as inside Japan. And honestly, we also the following asked too. "Please make a new .hack game!" but no matter how many times we do, we're always like "Please ask Bandai Namco". Seriously, it's always the same conversation. I'm sure many people are displeased with this. Well, that's also the reason why so many people ask that question too. Quote March 12, 2023 The following are excerpts from the broadcast: CC2's Matsuyama Hiroshi: "Regarding the .hack project, we are already working on a new game ..." Bandai Namco Producer Tsukida: "Oi! Oi oi oi oi" Matsuyama: "I wish I could say that, but I'm sure your boss is panicking over there right now, but I hope to be able to make this announcement at some point in the future. I think it all depends on your support, so I hope you'll look forward to new developments in the .hack series." Tsukida: "Your support will lead to new games, so please continue to support us in the future." Quote July 15, 2024 At Anime Expo 2024, we had the opportunity to sit down with CyberConnect2’s Executive Vice President, Taichiro Miyazaki, to discuss the future of the beloved .hack series. Fans of the franchise, known for its immersive storytelling and pioneering approach to MMORPG-style gameplay within a single-player RPG, have been eagerly awaiting news about the next installment. This led us to a simple question, “Are we going to see more .hack in the future?” Miyazaki-san responded with a glimmer of hope for fans: “Within CyberConnect2, the topic of a new .hack is constantly in the background. However, we need the cooperation of Bandai Namco, the publisher. We have ideas, and if we get the okay, we would love to move forward.” Interestingly, he continued by mentioning that Western fans have a lot of power when demanding these types of projects get the green light by sharing, “North America is our biggest market, so you have the biggest influence. Please send emails and peer pressure Bandai Namco to make it happen.”
