Where the 2 in CyberConnect2 comes from

This is an old Facebook post answering the origin's of the 2 in CyberConnect2 by Sara Nelkin who became the head of public relations for CyberConnect2 on March 2nd 2018.

Haven’t you ever wondered where the 2 in CyberConnect2 comes from?
There is a reason for it being there, and it’s not because it sounds cool (though it does).
So basically, a bunch of people from another game company decided to form their own company, named CyberConnect (though apparently “Mekemeke-dan” was on the table). In 2000, however, the company president at the time disappeared. Nothing dangerous happened to him or anything, but CyberConnect was left without a leader.
That was when our current president, Hiroshi Matsuyama, offered to become president of the company. However, he had some conditions, including having a whole new set of rules for employees.
He then renamed the company CyberConnect2. 2 not just because it marked the rebirth of the company, but also because it was the era of the PlayStation 2.
And that’s the basic history of how CyberConnect2 got its name!
