Anonymous
An archive from 2004 .hack//ENEMY TCG Level Up! Tour Contest Results 8 Mar 2004 During the month of February, ten Decipher "Hackers" were on the road on the first leg of the Level Up! tour. "Monster" players from California to the Carolinas, from Arizona to Alabama, had their chance to defeat one of the Hacker PCs and win a bounty from them. But which region fielded the strongest competition and won the most bounty matches against their Hacker? Before the tour began, we gave you a chance to predict the results, and one of you has won a set of ten cards depicting the touring Hackers' PC personas, each signed by the respective Hacker. The Results The results are in, and Tim Ellington faced the strongest competition, giving up a full 60% of his bounty matches! Congratulations to the "monster" players of Virginia and North Carolina for putting up such a battle. The selection of winners was slightly complicated by the last-minute replacement – after the voting took place – of Sean "Yuji" Smallman by Tim "Tim" Ellington. Since the contest stated that the "entry selecting both the correct area of strongest competition and the closest guess of the match results will be the winner," we considered a vote for Sean to be a vote for the VA-NC tour as the "area of strongest competition" (i.e., the votes were transferred to Tim). Of the 23 entries that predicted the VA-NC Hacker would get most soundly trounced by the competition, just four also hit the mark for how many bounty matches he would give up (the 56-60% range). We randomly selected Josh Sternberg of Ramsey, Minnesota, from those four as the winner of a set of ten .hack//ENEMY cards signed by the ten Hackers. (Note: because there is, as yet, no card showing Tim the Wavemaster, we will substitute a Yuji card signed by Geoff Snider, who will assume the Yuji persona for the April tour.) In addition, we randomly selected one entry from those submitted for each Hacker to receive a card signed by that Hacker. The ten winners are: Hacker Contest Entries Naming This Hacker Winner of Card Signed by This Hacker Sean Smallman (Yuji) (Yuji card will be signed by Geoff Snider) 23 Lee Shelton Huntersville, North Carolina Mark Tuttle (Crest) 41 Will Raiman Tucker, Georgia Scott Gaeta (Benkei) 50 Kelvin Yam Los Altos, California Dan Bojanowski (Balmung) 35 Gavin Verhey Edmonds, Washington Mike Reynolds (Sanjuro) 27 Danny Tennison Canmer, Kentucky Kyle Heuer (Ginkan) 15 James LaPorte Semmes, Alabama Kevin Reitzel (Moonstone) 12 Brian Lee Orlando, Florida Chuck Kallenbach (Wiseman) 40 Nigel Ohrum Dillsburg, Pennsylvania Andy Lupp (Piros) 16 Said Hodzic Uppsala, Sweden Trevor McGregor (Kite) 8 Jody McCullough Mesquite, Texas Congratulations to all our winners!
